  • 2006

The Department of Health and Ageing engaged consultants to examine the operational activities, funding and governance arrangements of the RFDS and make recommendations on governance, funding and operational models to enhance the capacity of the RFDS to deliver health services to people living and working in rural and remote Australia.  The review involved consultations with RFDS Sections and health jurisdictions; comparative analyses on activity, aviation, staff and financial data; developing a matrix of organisations involved in the provision of aeromedical and related clinical services to rural and remote communities and the types of services provided; developing models for recurrent operational funding; aviation management and capital funding, and governance and administration; and preparation of a final report that will draw together the information collected during the project.  Lilian Lazarevic was a Project Manager for this assignment whist a Director of Healthcare Management Advisors.
