Queensland ABF Phase 2 - Costing Audit

Project Type - Acute Care, Audit and compliance, Service costing

  • 2010

As part of Queensland Health’s work program to build appropriate capacity in ABF, a costing audit across 33 hospitals in the state of Queensland was required. The costing audit sought to inform work focussing on cost centre alignment and standardisation, cost allocation methods identification and standardisation and variance analysis to determine the significance of any cost allocation differential methods currently being employed. The outcomes of the costing audit were used to identify potential changes required to the proposed casemix funding model being implemented across the state and informed the development of an education and performance reporting Workstream.
