Evaluate Mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Project Type - Service planning

  • 2010

Health Outcomes International was engaged to undertake an evaluation of a two-year trial of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) service in rural Victoria and New South Wales. The evaluation focussed on the issues of feasibility and affordability and the capacity of the service to be replicated in other regions of Australia. HOI worked collaboratively with the Department and the MRI service provider to develop and implement an evaluation framework and data collection strategy comprising both quantitative and qualitative data that optimsed the data coillection process and minimised respondent burden. The final reports from the study focussed on patient access to the service and the economic implications for patients, the MRI service provider and the Commonwealth.
