Primary Mental Health Workforce Development - Early Implementation Guide

In association with Te Pou (The National Centre of Mental Health), HOI developed an Early Implementation Guide for Primary Mental Health Workforce Development. The purpose of the Guide was to provide the Ministry of Health with high level recommendations for key components of an infrastructure for building primary mental health workforce capacity and capability, over a two year time horizon, together with supporting rationale and cost considerations. The Guide needed to contribute to the longer term Ministry policy direction and take into account the primary care environment, recent evaluation findings of primary mental health initiatives in New Zealand, and emergent national and international trends in primary mental health care.
